ART | Creative encounters
The Springfield Y celebrates the arts with a week of activities. Oct. 4 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. create a self portrait. The LLCC Madrigal Singers and Sangamon County Youth Symphony members perform Oct. 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. On Oct. 6 from 5-8pm, over a dozen local artists will have their work displayed and some will perform live demonstrations. Oct. 7 make a dream catcher between 5-7 p.m. Families are invited Oct. 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to a session on journal making. Arts Week is an initiative of the Y that promotes the power of art to educate, inspire and connect the entire community.
