The International Route 66 Mother Road Festival rolls out three days of cool cars, food, music and car-related activities in downtown Springfield. Bands play classic hits on the Hot Rod Stage, there’s a poker run, a marketplace for restoration enthusiasts, a commemorative exhibit to the late Route 66 artist Bob Waldmire, including his cars and artwork, Horsepower Alley, Monet of Cars including concept car “789 Chevy” along with its designer, a burnout competition, Travel Illinois Expo highlighting Route 66 travel opportunities, a Family Fun Zone/Children’s Area and more.
