The Emerald Underground Frankie’s 49er CD Release Party Friday, March 12, 9pm-1am http://theemeraldunderground.net/

The Emerald Underground

During the St. Patrick’s Day season The Emerald Underground becomes Springfield’s Celtic house band. Starting with a CD release party at the 49er on Friday, TEU next does Marly’s Pub at noon and Lime Street Café at 8:30 on Saturday, private shows at the Island Bay Yacht Club on Sunday and at Floyd’s Thirst Parlor on Tuesday, then back to Lime Street in the evening for the actual day of St. Patrick on Wednesday and finishes the go-round with a Robbie’s show next Friday. This year band members Jack White (guitar, keys, vocals), Nat Radwine (drums, percussion), Theresa O’Hare (flute, piccolo, whistles), Joe Kath (fiddle), Bill McKenzie (bass, vocals), Lori McKenzie (vocals) and Hank Helton (guitars, vocals) offer a recently produced CD to the public during the upcoming area tour. Recorded by Helton at his home studio, An Emerald Moment contains traditional tunes, original compositions and instrumental arrangements worthy of any band from the Emerald Isle. In 2009 the group performed at several Irish music festivals and expect to do more of the same in 2010.
