How often do you get to take your significant other out for a romantic evening? What if you could have a nice date and support good causes at the same time? Peyton Tosh, a civic-minded teen from Jacksonville, is putting on a show to do just that.

On Feb. 13 – just in time for Valentine’s Day – Tosh and a bevy of local vocalists will perform a collection of love songs at the Hoogland Center for the Arts in Springfield.

“Romance on Broadway” will feature songs from Fiddler on the Roof, The Phantom of the Opera and more, with ticket proceeds divided between the Hoogland Center and the American Red Cross.

“I heard about the Hoogland’s financial situation, and since I’ve performed there, I decided to start this fundraiser to benefit them and the Red Cross Meals on Wheels program,” Tosh said. “I really love the Center. I think it’s important for any community to have that connection with the arts.”

Tosh volunteers extensively and has put on another fundraiser for the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois.

Tickets to “Romance on Broadway” are available at the Hoogland ticket booth, by calling 523-2787, or online at SCFTA.org.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children and seniors.
