A pop Culture Phenomenon


Just ask any “teen” or “tween” age girl and they will be able to tell you who the Jonas Brothers are! They have become an overnight sensation and continue to wow their audiences! The Jonas Brothers are Kevin 21, Joe 19, and Nick, 16. They are a pop culture phenomenon. They have made headlines and sold out records from coast to coast, since their Hollywood debut in 2007.

The group’s p r e m i e r e single, “SOS” was an overnight success and their “Look me in the Eyes” headline tour concert sold out in minutes. Now the group is back in the spotlight with the upcoming release of their 3D film, “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Experience.”

The Jonas Brothers, led by Nick Jonas, started out modestly performing in their family basement in Wycoff, New Jersey. Later, they went on to land roles in Broadway musicals. Nick landed roles in musicals like “Les Miserable,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Christmas Carol-The Musical,” and “Annie Get Your Gun.” Joe landed a part in “La Boheme.’

The brothers signed their first record-label deal in 2005 and with Hollywood Records in 2006. The Jonas Brothers then went on to shoot their own reality series, “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream.”

They also recently starred in the Disney C h a n n e l O r i g i n a l M o v i e “ C a m p R o c k , ” which was the Number 1 entertainment telecast on cable television in 2008.

The “Jonas Brothers: 3D Concert Up” movie was filmed during their 2008 “Burnin’ Up” concert tour, which drew more than 1 million fans. The film blends excerpts of the concert tour, along with guest performances by Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift. There is also exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, and the song “Love Is on Its Way,” a song their fans have never heard before.

The Jonas Brothers have also been greatly awarded and recognized for their artistic talents. In 2008, they were nominated with a grammy as Best New Artist.

In the same year, they won six Teen Choice Awards. Their last album, in August 2008, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200. The soundtrack to their movie, “Camp Rock,” was No. 8 on the charts. Their Rolling Stone cover was the magazine’s largestselling issue of 2008. In 2007 and 2008, the group rang in the New Year, by performing live in New York’s Time Square on “Dick Clark’s New Y e a r ’ s Rocking Eve.”

They also performed at the Kids Inaugural: We are the Future inauguration event, along with performing on hit shows, like “Dancing with the Stars,” and the season final of “American Idol.” Over the last few years, the trio have grown personally and professionally, as songwriters, musicians, and recording artists.

Now their lyrics are more personal about what they have gone through. They try to handle the media frenzy that surrounds them gracefully and with humor. Their appeal is also growing overseas, as well as in the United States. It looks as if the Jonas Brothers are here to stay and will be performing for audiences and thrilling their fans for some time to come!
