Cross Bayou Point Development

Clementine Hunter’s World
A locally produced film documentary, “Clementine Hunter’s World,” was screened in the Oprah Winfrey Theater at the National Museum of History & Culture (NMAAHC) on March 24. A panel discussion featuring the filmmaker, Art Shiver, along with Tom Whitehead, Henry Price and Molly Baker followed.

Running With Angels
The 18th Annual David Rice Memorial Angel Run and Walk will be held Saturday, April 27, and will begin at 8 a.m. on Holy Angels’ campus. The opening ceremony will kick off with special guest, Miss Wheelchair Louisiana, Karen Roy. Runners and walkers will travel through Long Lake neighborhood then back to Holy Angels’ campus for a celebration.

Old Technique Meets New World
He started making the gourd with help from his graduate school adviser at North Carolina State University, where he earned an M.S. in applied sociology in 1996. But he didn’t finish the electric gourd instrument for nearly 20 years, as it required him to build and rebuild an electric dulcimer and install it into the hard-skinned fruit.
