On Saturday, Aug. 11, the Krewe of Centaur hosted their Midway to Mardi Gras Party at the Bossier Civic Center. This year’s new royalty was introduced, and live music was provided by SiDE fX. The Krewe of Centaur Grand Bal is Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, and the parade is Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019. – Mark Crawford

The Krewe of Gemini celebrated their 30th Anniversary Midway to Mardi Gras party on Aug. 18, with a seated dinner at Horseshoe Casino’s Riverdome. Captain Mary Ann Edens presented her royal court, which had been kept secret until that evening. The party also featured a silent auction. Entertainment was provided by The Boomers. – Mark Crawford
