GEEK´D CON 2017 kicks off in August
In case you wondered, there are probably as many definitions of geeks as there are geeks. A geek can be someone excessively enamored of a specialized subject or activity. (Think about French food aficionados.) They can be digital technology enthusiasts. Some people called eccentric or nonmainstream may end up with a geek handle.

Upfront
There may not be a single craving that cannot be satisfied at Delish, Shreveport’s new one-of-a kind artisan marketplace on Line Avenue near Kings Highway. The open, airy shop is all about flavor, housing a series of island displays, each with a different local brand.

LOCAL HAIRDRESSER RETIRES AFTER 60 YEARS
With the turn of a calendar page from July to August, so will begin the retirement of a local hairdresser who has been styling hair and enhancing the image of his customers for the last 60 years.

WOMEN WHO CARE, SHARE
Beep, beep. Beep, beep. Beep, beep. It was that noise, the unmistakable sound of a kitchen timer in the background, that offered insight into Dale Smith Thomas, featured speaker for the third annual Women Who Care, Share luncheon benefitting the YWCA of Northwest Louisiana.
