The Poor Man’s Supper held on Nov. 20 benefited the Christian Service Program to provide food and clothing, as well as other services, for the hungry and homeless. The symbolic meal of soup and bread, which signifies what many homeless eat for their supper, was served in the Hunter Activities Building of the First United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Soups came from Monjuni’s and IHOP.

A VIP Preview Night was held at Walk-On’s in Bossier City on Nov. 19. It is located at 3010 Airline Drive. Proceeds from the cash bar benefited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This is the second Walk-On’s in the area, and it is owned by Chris McJunkins. The restaurant features a taste of Louisiana in a game-day atmosphere.

Former and current board members at The Glen Retirement System gathered for a fall luncheon Nov. 16 at Superior’s Steakhouse. The Glen’s CEO and president, Debra Williams, welcomed the ladies and spoke about activities, future plans and opportunities for support in the community.
