National Philanthropy Day recognizes the contributions that individuals and organizations make to nonprofits. In North Louisiana, the local Association of Fundraising Professionals Chapter has hosted the luncheon since 1993 to honor local philanthropic leaders, organizations, and fundraising professionals.

•SBAACC Small Business Awards Luncheon The
Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce will host its
small business awards luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, November
1, at Riverview Hall, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway. The Small Business Owner
of the Year will be recognized along with Business Advocate of the Year.
Guest speaker is Pluria Marshall Jr., owner of KMSS Fox 33. Booth space
is free for current members: space for future members $75 and includes

•Keel New COO at Citizens National Bank Citizens
National Bank, N.A., has announced the recent promotion of Jim Keel to
executive vice president and chief operating officer. Keel has
more than 34 years of banking and management experience. Keel is one of
the original employees that joined Citizens National Bank in 1985. He
began his distinguished banking career at Bossier Bank & Trust in
1977 and after seven years moved to Citizens.
Keel
earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting at LSU Shreveport. He also
serves as a member of the bank’s executive committee.
•Burnham joins Cook Yancey The law firm of Cook, Yancey King and Galloway has announced that Drew Burnham has joined the firm as an associate.
Mr.
Burnham received his B.A. from Centenary College in 2012 and his J. D.
from Louisiana State University in 2015. After law school, Drew served
as a law clerk to the Honorable Elizabeth Erny Foote, United States
District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
•Kyle McGuire, Top 10 Young Lawyers in Louisiana Kyle
McGuire, an associate of the law firm of Perkins & Associates, was
recognized among the Top 10 Young Lawyers in Louisiana by the Louisiana
Association of Defense Counsel. Kyle is mentored by Mark Perkins and is
the only finalist from North Louisiana. Kyle has also accepted a service
position on the Young Lawyers Section of the Louisiana Association of
Defense Counsel.
