They hate school, but dread going home. They start fighting, cutting class, running away or committing crimes. They become truants or disciplinary problems for the school system and eventually, if not successfully turned around, for society through the school-toprison pipeline.

The Zika virus, which originated in Uganda in the Zika forest, is rare among adults. However, it’s incredibly dangerous for a developing baby. “If you are a woman of child-bearing years or if you are pregnant, you must take every precaution to not get infected, especially during the first trimester,” said Mirfakhraee.

Eliminate standing water where mosquitoes breed. Drain water that collects in buckets, kids toys, tarps, pool covers, clogged gutters and downspouts. Clear the gutters and downspouts so water can drain freely. Store items that tend to collect water in a shed or garage.

RED RIVER HOT AIR
Dr. Bill Bussey has been a hot air balloon pilot since 1977 and holds 15 world records. Bussey created the Great Texas Balloon Race in Longview, Texas, in 1978 and is also credited with producing the very first ever balloon glow in 1981. “These events draw so many people,” he said.
