SHREVEPORT GETS FIRED UP

TIME TO STEP UP
The first issue is fireworks within the city limits. The city’s Code of Ordinances stipulates the dates on which fireworks can be sold and discharged. It said the sale and discharge of fireworks are allowed from noon June 25 through 10 p.m. July 5 and noon Dec.

Eldorado announces new general manager
Eldorado Resort Casino Shreveport has named Robert Urland as general manager. Urland takes over the position from Mike Whitemaine, who has been named senior vice president of regional operations for Eldorado Resorts corporate division and will be based in Ohio.

With only a month to go until state lawmakers head to Baton Rouge for a special session of the legislature to address budget shortfalls and a regular session in the spring, it’s likely that the attention of most will be on those legislative activities.

“I was working on a project and she taught me to keep putting effort into it,” he said. “Miss Lee told me, ‘An artist is never done.’” His persistence paid off his teenage years when he created three murals in Shreveport- Bossier City. His first was a mural for the Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana.
