Designed for those who are considering or who have scheduled total hip or total knee replacement surgery. The Willis-Knighton Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute offers participants insight into the joint replacement process, from preadmission planning to surgery, follow-up and rehabilitation.

20 Years of Feeling Better

Simpkins Community Health & Education Center, which opened in September 1995, marks its 20th anniversary of caring for the community. It was the first of eight Project NeighborHealth clinics in Northwest Louisiana and Bradley, Ark., focused on serving underserved neighborhoods. Sweet Talk: Benefits of Honey Guest Speaker: Julie Hartley, registered dietitian Friday, Sept. 18, 2:30 p.m. Franks Community Centre Julie Hartley, registered dietitian, will share the health benefits of honey and explain its medicinal properties in a Healthwise presentation to mark National Honey Month. One of the oldest sweeteners on earth, honey is also used in various foods and beverages as a sweetener and flavoring. Hartley will offer ways to use honey for nutritional value.
