For the last 32 years, Randy Hill has been evolving and expanding what once was a small-time repair shop into the full-fledged janitorial supply company that serves a 100-mile radius that it is today. VCC Janitorial Supply located at 2565 E. Texas Street in Bossier City, Louisiana accommodates a wide variety of customers and needs. From supplying janitorial needs to businesses both big and small to repairing commercial floor and cleaning equipment, Hill has come a long way from his humble beginnings.
“I started in this business when I was in high school, at 17 years old, to pay my way through school,” said Hill. “It used to be an old repair shop on the corner of Texas and Benton Road, repairing vacuum cleaners. My uncle had a repair shop and my dad helped me buy the business to pay my way through school and eventually I ended up having four vacuum cleaner stores in the Shreveport and Bossier area.”
“That was about the time people would go to retail shops and take a vacuum cleaner and throw it away if the belt broke, so we had to diversify,” he said. “Eventually we changed our business plan to work on commercial equipment and then it kind of grew into selling supplies. Now we’re repairing floor equipment, vacuum cleaners and we have a retail shop all in one location.”
The janitorial supply business has been steady and Hill stated that business has been good, but he attributes his success to those around him. Many of his employees have been with him for a good while, some for over 25 years. The success he has seen is a testament to the company he keeps. “Our biggest growth has been in the last 10 years,” said Hill. “ VCC Janitorial Supply is a familyoriented business, Hill said that his father offered good direction throughout the years and his mom, who spent much of her career in the banking industry, helps in the finance department.

“We offer the knowledge and consider ourselves partners with our customers,” said Hill. “We work to offer saving solutions to customers. Because many businesses are expected to do more with less people, it’s a real challenge.
In addition to their supply and repair services, Hill also offers inservice trainings for businesses and organizations that aim to uplift employees and those in the community, placing an emphasis on the importance of their job.
“We have an array of in-services depending on what the facility needs,” said Hill. “We give a certificate of completion at the end of training.
Hill has worked with prisoners in the Caddo Parish justice system and with the Sheriff Department’s Re-Entry program, equipping them with training and skills to be used upon their release into the community.
As for the future, Hill has plans and goals to tackle the changing economy and buying market - but what will remain the same is his devotion to his local customer base.
