Strand premieres local film

Downtown Shreveport was buzzing with activity at The Strand Theatre on Aug. 4. The world premiere of locally-filmed and produced “Cut To The Chase” spilled out onto Louisiana Avenue as nearly 1,000 people walked the red carpet and took their seats in the historic theater. Blayne Weaver, who was born and raised in Shreveport-Bossier, now lives in New York City and wrote, directed and starred in the movie, which was filmed in Shreveport in 2015. Many of the other actors in the film were on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.
