With years of experience, the physicians of Pierremont OB/GYN, demonstrate professionalism and expertise at every level. Offering a full range of obstetrics and gynecology services from a patient’s initial exam, to childbirth and through menopause and beyond, their goal is to offer patient-centered medical care based on mutual trust and communication.

Dr. Beth H. Geneux has been in practice in Shreveport since 2011 and at the WK facility for a year. She attended undergraduate studies at LSU in Baton Rouge and earned her medical degree in New Orleans at LSU School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Charlotte, N.C., at Carolinas Medical Center.

She said her patients are the most important part of her practice. “I like to think that I have a very comfortable relationship with my patients,” Geneux said. “They can be very open and honest in our practice.”

Dr. Kristi Michael has been in practice in Shreveport since 2002. Before moving on to the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, she earned her degree in biology at Centenary College. She completed her residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Michael said working at Pierremont OB GYN is like being a part of a big family. “I enjoy obstetrics and caring for women during the most exciting time in their lives,” Michael said. “Helping [patients] transition into motherhood is such an honor and I am privileged to be in this profession!” Dr. Stephanie W. Sockrider began her practice in Shreveport in 2005. She earned her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. She performed research in the Department of Physiology at the Biomedical Research Institute before receiving her medical degree from Louisiana State University – Shreveport, School of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

Sockrider said her biggest accomplishment is the opportunity to expand her gynecology practice, since joining the team of doctors last year.

Dr. Kristy Waltman has been in practice in Shreveport since 1998. After earning her undergraduate degree in chemistry at Baylor University, she attended the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport and then served her internship and residency at LSU Medical Center. She serves as medical director of the Crisis Pregnancy Center and as Vice Chief of the medical staff at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport.

Waltman said over the last three years she has accomplished one of her biggest goals by introducing minimally invasive surgery into her practice. “The days of having a hysterectomy with a large abdominal incision, staying in the hospital for three days, and extended painful convalescence for eight weeks are coming to an end,” Waltman said. “With this technology, patients are able to have surgery with less time off work, fewer days in the hospital, less risk of infection and fewer complications. It has definitely been a game changer in the field of gynecology.”
