Stephanie Sanches, Office Manager, and Teresa Weiland, Sales Coordinator for Accutemp Cooling & Heating, are two local business women finding success and fulfillment in a typically maledominated field.

“I truly enjoy working in the HVAC industry,” Sanches said. “Accutemp is a locally owned company. We have sixteen employees and most have been with the company for a long period of time. We are a very tight knit work family and I know I can rely on all of the employees.”

Sanches started working for Accutemp in 2009. “I began my career in this industry as a dispatcher and was offered the position of office manager in 2010,” she said. She does a little bit of everything there. “I handle book-keeping, accounts payable and receivables, as well as human resources.”

Weiland has a different experience.

“I worked with Accutemp back in 2012, left for a different opportunity, then realized later that I was much happier here,” said Weiland. “This is where I was meant to be.”

“This job has offered so many different opportunities,” said Weiland. “Including learning all about how the HVAC system works. It makes me feel so happy when we are able to get a customer what they need, whether it be heating or cooling.”

Sanches’ favorite part of her job is simple—helping customers. “I’ve enjoyed building relationships with all of our customers over the years,” Sanches said. “It’s amazing in just a short phone call how much you can learn about someone and the stories they have to tell.”

She takes pride in her work and enjoys getting to help make someone’s day better. “When someone’s life becomes interrupted from either losing cooling or heat, it really does disrupt the way you live your daily life,” said Sanches. “It’s our goal to get our customers up and running quickly to minimize any discomfort.”

Sanches studied Business at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and moved to Shreveport in 2009. Soon after, she was introduced to her husband of four years, Thad. “Outside of work I enjoy taking our fur babies, Cooper and Ellie, for walks, working in the yard and learning new recipes to cook,” Sanches said.

Weiland was born and raised in Shreveport, married her high school sweetheart husband, and together they have two children and a handful of pets.

Managing a career as a business woman isn’t always easy, but for Weiland and Sanches, it’s always worth it. “Balancing this job and family is testing sometimes, but working with Accutemp is like working with family,” said Weiland.

Sanches and Weiland both hope to see growth at Accutemp in the near future. “I’ve been with this company for seven years, and in that time, we have doubled the amount of employees and work volume,” Sanches said. “The owner has long talked about opening a second location in a different area, and we would love to see that happen!”
