Women live longer and earn more money than ever before. Not surprisingly, a woman is statistically likely to outlive her husband – so much so that approximately 80% of women will outlive their first spouse. While women traditionally have increased personal wealth through inheritance, divorce or the death of a spouse, many today are high income earners in their own rights.

What does this mean in terms of women and personal finances? It means that most women, at some point in life, will be responsible for managing their own financial affairs. Despite this, studies show that women still lack confidence in managing their money and making financial decisions.

In order to effectively build and manage wealth, women must become familiar with their personal financial circumstances. Realistically and critically deciding what is important to you will help to define your short term and long-term financial objectives. Then you will be in a better position to educate yourself and take action to achieve those goals.

At Argent, we bring an unbiased approach to protecting, managing and growing your wealth. With a wide array of services and resources, our advisors are ready to sit down for a conversation to see how they can help you reach your goals. And recognizing the unique needs of women, we created our Women and Wealth initiative to ensure women are informed, heard and prepared so that if tough decisions need to be made, they know they have a partner at Argent.

As part of the initiative, we have prepared a Women & Wealth whitepaper offering ideas for women on how to build, protect and distribute wealth. Please contact us if you would like to receive a copy of this guide.
