Dr. Jina Miller of Internal Medicine Associates in Shreveport has been lucky enough to love what she does for a living.

“My favorite thing about being a physician is when I am able to help a patient solve a problem that is interfering with their health or happiness,” she said. “I like to help my patients find solutions and make healthy changes. Through the years I have seen that time and patience bring about more answers and solutions than lab and xray overkill!” Originally from Baton Rouge, Miller grew up in Houston before returning to Baton Rouge to graduate high school and attend LSU.

She received an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and then attended LSU Medical School in New Orleans. “I chose internal medicine because I like to hear people’s stories and try to solve problems. I think it’s a great combination of science and storytelling,” Dr. Miller said. “I especially like the older patient population as I was very close to my sweet grandmother.”

Miller has been a physician for 21 years and has lived and practiced in Shreveport for nearly 16 years.

She cites Dr. Robert Lafargue, Dr. Robert Hernandez and Dr. Dan Moller as mentors that inspired her along her path as a physician.
