Chaunta Mero became a real estate agent in 2006, and in 2008 became an independent real estate broker working for herself. “As an independent real estate broker selling homes in Shreveport/Bossier I’m able to provide ala carte services to my clients depending on their needs. After a seller has lived in their home for so many years, they want to keep as much of their equity in their pocket and that is where I come in,” she says. Though she also loves working with clients who are on their first search for a home.

“When working with first time home buyers, it such an emotional feeling to see someone close on a home - many who never thought they could own one,” Mero said.

Mero is a member of the NWLAR and the NAR. She is also a Civil Law Notary Public. She has been married for 15 years and has a 10 year old son, and enjoys doing arts and crafts and spending time with her friends and family. “My husband guided me in my decision to go into business on my own. ” she said. For any women who are interested in going into business for themselves, she suggests to start right away. “Don’t put it off - do it today. You may have to work your current job until your business gets off and running, but keep going.” she said. “No matter how many people are in the field of business that you want to start, There is always something unique that only you can do.”
