Jay Covington on creating the March issue

Change is always a challenge, but it is also oftentimes refreshing and reinvigorating. That’s how we hope you find the results of our efforts to bring a new perspective to CityLife in a more readerfriendly size and format. We’ve made only minor design changes in this edition as we want our product to remain familiar to its many readers. Look for continued content and creative development as we share our work in progress.

Our focus has shifted from a general interest lifestyle publication to be one that focuses on empowering and bringing together the women of Northwest Louisiana. These women are strong, often bringing home the bacon as well as caring for the family, the hubby and the house. We want to recognize those efforts as no one else does. We will endeavor to share the stories and challenges of every day homemakers, mothers and the career oriented. We want our magazine to stay in your hands and in your home: Our new size and fresh look will add wonderful coffee table appeal.

CityLife enters its seventh year with style and our mission is to continue to offer that and much more. We would love to hear your ideas for stories or profiles for upcoming editions. We want to keep things fresh and seek your help in doing so.

In an upcoming edition we will introduce our Community Advisory Board made up entirely of ladies who are a part of the daily fabric of our community. We want to share their resources and insights with you our readers. It is our desire to create opportunity for networking. Women’s interests are far more varied than just fashion and food, though we’ll certainly include enough of that to whet any style maven’s appetite and Chef John Strand will continue to offer us menus and recipes simply to-dine-for. There will be plenty of event and party pics to keep the men interested too.

It is rewarding to be a part of our cities as they grow and change. Local culture seems to be rewriting itself and we will be here to shine the spotlight on it.

We would like to offer a special thanks to the contributing wedding photographers in this issue: Their style and talent are evident. Brian Lewis, Terri Richardson and Kelly Powell will wow you.

And I would like to offer a super special thank you to all of the CityLife and Forum crew for making this an amazing edition and for going the extra mile. Our incredible staff, our readers and our advertisers are what make my job great! Thank you for your continued readership and we’ll see you next month.
