Joan Vienot practices art on location, in the moment, plein air painting. She loves the challenge of painting outdoors, capturing the essence of the moment in time. Her highest satisfaction is when her viewer not only recognizes the location, but also knows what time of day it was painted and what the weather was like.
Vienot lives in Point Washington, where she owns and manages Pool Pal, a swimming pool service company serving condos, vacation rentals and private homes on Scenic Highway 30A. A member of the Board of Directors of the Cultural Arts Alliance, she serves on the A+Art Committee helping to produce exhibits of CAA member artists’ works in public places.
She also serves as the coordinator of the Emerald Coast Plein Air Painters, who meet weekly to paint plein air throughout Beachcomberland. Her paintings are available for purchase at www.joanvienot.com. The artist’s other works include her figure drawings at Bohlert-Massey Interiors, and commissioned painting en plein air at wedding receptions.
Vienot will be the featured plein air painter and teach a workshop at the Chautauqua Assembly in DeFuniak Springs next January. Meet the artist and view her work at her studio by calling (850) 259-8394 for an appointment.
