MASSACHUSETTS BAY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS SOLICITATION FOR LAKE STREET YARD DEMOLITION AND RECONFIGURATION

Contract No. R16PS02

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is soliciting Design Services for the demolition of existing Lake Street yard tracks, carhouse, catenary and Boston College Station, followed by construction of a new Traction Power Substation building within the yard and reconstruction of the Boston College station. A new Eversource switchgear is to also be installed within the yard.

The duration of this contract will be five (5) years from Notice to proceed with (2) option periods of one (1) year.

This project is expected to utilize Federal and non-federal funding.

The contractor shall remove the existing medium-voltage switchgear, dispose of it properly, install the new switchgear with all required connections and grounding, coordinate shutdowns and energization with the Awarding Authority and Eversource, and complete all testing and restoration.
