INVITATION TO BID Old Dartmouth Historical Society dba New Bedford Whaling Museum 18 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford, MA 02740 BOURNE BUILDING ROOF REPLACEMENT

The Old Dartmouth Historical Society dba New Bedford Whaling Museum, 18 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford, Massachusetts, the Awarding Authority, request bids for the roof replacement and related repairs on the Museum’s historic Jonathan Bourne Building which is listed in the State and National Registers of Historic Places. The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by Machado Silvetti Associates, Architect. All work must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. All work must be completed by June 30, 2026. State law prohibits discrimination. Awarding of this contract is subject to Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity guidelines. Bidding documents are available electronically by request to mtaylor@whalingmuseum.

org. A pre-bid meeting will be held at the New Bedford Whaling Museum at the corner of Johnny Cake Hill and William Street, on Wednesday, February 18th at 11:00 AM. All Requests for Information and questions should be sent to [email protected] by Thursday, February 19th. Responses will be provided within 48 hours and will be shared with all respondents who requested documents. Bids shall be evaluated on the basis of price, previous experience with similar types of construction projects, ability to perform the work in a timely manner, and professional references. To be eligible for consideration, bids must be received electronically at [email protected] no later than 3:00 PM on Friday, February 27th, at which time they will be opened.


NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING PARCEL P-3 TREMONT AND WHITTIER STREETS RTNs 3-15009 and 3-36365

Monday, March 2, 2026

As part of the Public Involvement Process for the Parcel P-3 site at Tremont and Whittier Streets, the City of Boston Planning Department will host a public information meeting about the status of environmental cleanup activities at this site. The site is tracked by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) under Release Tracking Numbers (RTNs) 3 15009 and 3 36365. The purpose of this meeting is to present a draft Five-Year Periodic Review Opinion Report (the “Report”) for the site pursuant to the Massachusetts Contingency Plan. An electronic copy of the draft Report will be available to download for review at https://eeaonline.eea.state.ma.us/portal/dep/wastesite/ (search by 3-0015009 and 3 0036365).

The meeting will be held virtually on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 PM, to present the draft Report and to solicit public comment. Note that the Parcel P-3 project and the related draft Report will be only one item in conjunction with an agenda of several other items to discuss other neighborhood projects.
