Winston Bodrick has been appointed executive director of the Roxbury YMCA. With extensive experience in leadership and his role as a civic leader in the community, Bodrick brings with him expertise that will guide the YMCA into a new chapter of growth and improvement for the benefit of the community.
Bodrick previously served in a number of prominent leadership roles including as deputy finance director for a Massachusetts gubernatorial campaign, director of recruitment at The Partnership Inc. and as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LPP.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., Bodrick attended Morehouse College where he earned his bachelor of arts, graduating cum laude. He also holds a master’s from Dartmouth College, where he received a presidential fellowship, and a juris doctor from Boston College Law School.
A strong, committed leader in the Boston community, Bodrick also serves as chairman of the Trustee Board at Twelfth Baptist Church, president of the Greater Boston Morehouse College Alumni Association, vice president of the Second African Meeting House and as a board member of the Greater Boston Food Bank and Ellis Early Learning.
Throughout his career Bodrick has taken on a multitude of roles that allow him to be deeply involved in the Boston community. He is co-founder and principal of the Ambry Development Group, a minority-owned real estate development firm that focuses on developing communities that are healthy and inclusive.
There, he co-manages real estate development strategies and oversees projects that have a goal of growing generational wealth and bettering economic mobility. Among these projects is a 13,500-square-foot, 12-unit affordable homeownership development in Dorchester. Showcasing his commitment to generating wealth in the community, Bodrick has always been a team player willing to take the initiative and directly push for changes that he wants to see.
With a clear focus on improving the overall well-being for different communities throughout Boston in joining the Y, Bodrick brings with him not only his expertise and extensive history in leadership roles, but his community-driven passion to help others and improve the overall health of the city.
