Electronic proposals for the following project will be received through the internet using Project Bids until the date and time stated below, and will be posted on www.bidx.com forthwith after the bid submission deadline. Electronic bids for MBTA Contract No. S31CN03, RUGGLES STATION IMPROVEMENTS – PHASE 2, Ruggles Station, Roxbury MA (Class 1 – GENERAL TRANSIT CONSTRUCTION & Class 7 -BUILDINGS, valued at $30,000,000 and PROJECT VALUE $80,000,000, can be submitted at www. bidx.com until two o’clock (2:00 p.m.) on November 21, 2024. Immediately thereafter, in a designated room, the Bids will be opened and read publicly.

The scope of the construction contract is to provide a new fully accessible station for MBTA passengers. The project consists of the station renovation, making the entrance at Columbus Ave accessible, fixing slips, trips, and falls throughout the station, and improving stairs, handrails, and guardrails. Other interior improvements consist of station-wide lighting upgrades, the installation of accessible bathrooms, signage improvements, ADA- and code-compliant platform seating, visual displays, doors & gates, pull stations, and sound systems. The project also includes upgraded escalators, and electrical substation.

Bidders’ attention is directed to Appendix 1, Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to Insure Equal Employment Opportunity; and to Appendix 2, Supplemental Equal Employment Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination, and Affirmative Action Program in the specifications. In addition, pursuant to the requirements of Appendix 3, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Participation Provision, Bidders must submit an assurance with their Bids that they will make sufficient and reasonable efforts to meet the stated DBE goal of 22% percent.

Request for Proposals (RFP) – NSPIRE Inspection Services

The Falmouth Housing Authority (FHA) is seeking qualified firms to provide NSPIRE-compliant inspection services for federally subsidized housing units. This includes inspections for Public Housing units and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8, DIAL, Mainstream, FYI) and Project-Based Voucher programs. The selected firm will be awarded a three-year contract from December 1, 2024, to November 30, 2027.

GALE FREE LIBRARY – WINDOW RESTORATION

The Town of Holden, the Awarding Authority, requests bids for the restoration of historic wood windows and architectural woodwork at the Gale Free Library located at 23 Highland Street, Holden, MA, which is listed in the State and National Registers of Historic Places. The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Project Fund (MPPF) through the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

All work must be performed in accordance with the documents prepared by and available from the architect: Spencer Preservation Group, 41 Valley Road, Suite 211, Nahant, Massachusetts 01908 (617-227-2675) and meet the Secretary of the Interior’s “Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties”.
