Johnny Green Jr.
Johnny Green Jr., the general manager of WCBS-TV in New York, will become the regional general manager and president of both CBS New York (WCBS-TV), and CBS Boston (WBZ-TV) news stations.
Green had a previous stint at the affiliate spending five years at WBZ, first as an assistant news director and later as vice president and news director, before he took on the New York job. He also worked in Myrtle Beach and in both the Pennsylvania markets of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, respectively.
Before CBS, Green worked as an executive producer for NBC Universal and for WPIX-TV in New York City. He has been with CBS since 2015 and serves as interim news director at WCBS-TV and VP of News Services at CBS News, where he was in charge of CBS Newspath. CBSN is CBS News’ satellite news-gathering service.

Green currently oversees all aspects of CBS2, WLNY-TV 10-55, and CBSNewYork.com.
He has led the coverage on several major news stories, including the deadly Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia and the Merrimack Valley house explosions in Massachusetts.

Green has earned several News Emmy awards, and while he was at WBZ, the station won an Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence.
He is a member of the CBS Diversity Council and has served on the board of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts and as a member of the Racial Equity Advisory Board in Boston. He has also served as a C-Suite member of the Partnership in Boston. This organization makes corporations and institutions more competitive in a global economy by helping them attract, develop and retain talented multicultural professionals at all levels of leadership.
Green is a graduate of North Carolina Central University.
