NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF THE APPROVAL OF THE WRITTEN PROCEDURES GOVERNING THE SHELTERED MARKET PROGRAM (SMP) BY THE BOSTON WATER AND SEWER COMMISSION

The Boston Water and Sewer Commission held a public hearing on Thursday, May 9, 2024, for the purpose of giving interested persons an opportunity to present data, views or arguments relative to the establishment of the Sheltered Market Program (SMP). At that meeting, the written procedures governing the SMP was presented and thereafter, the procedure was adopted by the Commission.

SHELTERED MARKET PROGRAM

Following the findings of the Disparity Study conducted by BBC Research & Consulting in 2020, the Commission developed a Sheltered Market Program (SMP) to address the disparities in the use of minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs) and women-owned business enterprises (WBEs) in government contracting. Information about Commission contracts designated for the SMP, the Commission’s SMP procedures, and how to bid on SMP procurements is available at bwsc.org.


LEGAL NOTICE REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

The MASSACHUSETTS PORT AUTHORITY (Authority) is soliciting consulting services for MPA CONTRACT NO. A458 THIRD PARTY FIRE PROTECTION TERM CODE REVIEW CONSULTING SERVICES. The Authority is seeking qualified multidiscipline consulting firms or teams, with proven experience to provide professional services on an on-call, as needed basis. These services are expected to be provided at all Massport Facilities. The Consultant must be able to work closely with the Authority and other interested parties in order to provide such services in a timely and effective manner.

The consultant shall demonstrate experience in several disciplines including but not limited to Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm and Code Compliance, with an emphasis on Life Safety code compliance.

The Authority expects to select up to three (3) consultants. However, the Authority reserves the right to select a different number if it is deemed in its best interest to do so. Each consultant shall be issued a contract in an amount not to exceed ONE MILLION DOLLARS ($1,000,000). The services shall be authorized on a work order basis.
