The Boston Arts Academy Foundation, the charitable nonprofit organization for the Boston Arts Academy, the city’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts, celebrated its Class of 2024 on Monday, June 10th at Berklee Performance Center. The ceremony, unlike any other high school graduation, included live performances from talented seniors with a dance performance and vocal show from the BAA Spirituals Ensemble among others that had attendees on their feet. The Boston Arts Academy serves students who reflect the diversity of Boston’s neighborhoods. Giselle Byrd, the Executive Director of The Theater Offensive and the first Black trans woman in the country to lead a regional theater company delivered the commencement address.
