The project is being partially funded with grants from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

MASSACHUSETTS BAY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY SOLICITATION FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ENGINEERING SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF THE PROCUREMENT OF SUBWAY WORK CARS
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is soliciting for project management and engineering services for the procurement of work cars across all Subway Lines. The Scope of Service(s) may include but are not limited to: multidiscipline engineering (i.e. electrical, and mechanical); procurement support; review and analysis of technical specifications; historical assessment; assistance in performance testing; and quality assurance. The duration of this contract will be four years (4) years.
This project is expected to utilize Federal and non-federal funding. The DBE participation goal for this project is thirteen (13%) percent of the total amount authorized. In addition, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime consultants, sub-consultants and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities.

INVITATION TO BID
The Town of Brookline, acting through the Parks and Open Space Division of DPW, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the Exterior Restoration of the Brookline Reservoir Gatehouse, 674 Boylston Street, Brookline, MA in accordance with Contract Documents prepared by Spencer, Sullivan & Vogt Architects, 1 Thompson Square, Charlestown, Massachusetts, 02129. The work of this Contract includes cutting and pointing exterior masonry, restoration of existing windows, and new doors, frames and hardware.
All bids for this Project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, including without limitation Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended; Mass. G.L. Chapter 149, Sections 44A through 44L inclusive; and Chapter 149, Section 26 through 27D inclusive.
Sealed bids for proposals addressed to the Commissioner of Public Works, Brookline, and endorsed, “Exterior Restoration of the Brookline Reservoir Gatehouse”, will be received at the office of the Brookline Department of Public Works, Town Hall, 333 Washington Street, Fourth Floor, Brookline, Massachusetts 02445 until 10:00 a.m local time on January 30, 2019. All General Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter, in Room 408 at the Brookline Town Hall.
Each General Bidder must be certified by the Department of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) for the category of work and dollar amount of this project and to be considered must submit with his or her Bid, a DCAM Certification and Update Statement indicating additional work or contracts performed or executed after the certification date. The category of work for this Project is Historic Building. The estimated construction cost of this Project is $ 100,000.
The project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund through the Massachusetts Historical Commission. All work must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. A pre-bid site inspection and meeting will be held January 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM. All Bidders are requested to meet in Room 310 at the Brookline Town Hall, 333 Washington Street, Brookline, MA.
Each General Bidder may obtain complete sets of the Bidding Documents, including Bid Forms, after 2:00 PM local time, on January 10, 2019 and will be made available online at www.atjplanroom.com. Hard copy documents are available at the office of Andrew T. Johnson, 15 Tremont Place, Boston, MA 02111 upon deposit of $150.00 in the form of a CERTIFIED CHECK or BANK MONEY ORDER, made payable to the Town of Brookline for each complete set of Bidding Documents. General Bidders may receive one (1) and sub-bidders one (1) set of Bidding Documents. Copies of Addenda will be mailed or delivered to registered Bidders without charge. The full amount of each deposit for Bidding Documents will be refunded to each Bidder returning complete sets of Bidding Documents (including Addenda if issued) to the Architect’s office in good condition, within thirty (30) days after the date of General Bid opening. Deposits for Bidding Documents will be forfeited to the Town of Brookline if Bidding Documents are not returned within the specified time limit.

Each General Bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security equal to five (5) percent of the Bid amount in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Treasurer’s or Cashier’s Check issued by a responsible U.S. bank or Trust Company, payable to the Town of Brookline. Each Bidder shall attach the required Bid Bond or Check to the Bid Form.
The Bid Securities of all General Bidders, except those of the three lowest responsible and eligible General Bidders, will be returned within five (5) days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of General Bids.
The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all General Bids not deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
The successful General Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond as required by the Contract Documents.
Attention is directed to the fact that no less than the minimum wages as set forth in Document 00 7343 WAGE RATES of the Contract Documents must be paid on this Project and that no sales tax shall be included in their bids
