Boston University’s Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center hosted a reception for Bay State Banner Publisher Melvin Miller marking the publication of his book, “Boston’s Banner Years: 1965-2015; A Saga of Black Success.” The book chronicles the challenges and successes that have been recorded over the last 50 years in the Banner in areas including education, politics, economic development, law enforcement and news media. The Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center, which houses the Banner’s photographic archives, also unveiled an exhibit featuring historic Banner photographs and artifacts which will remain on display on the first floor of the Boston University library.
