TIP OF THE WEEK
Taking food pics
The following are some expert tips from Samsung for taking better food photos:
• A straight-on shot over your plate lacks visual interest. Switch it up by taking photos from multiple angles to see what works best.
• Some phones even have Food Mode, which automatically enhances color, contrast and blue tone effects.
MEAL PLANNING
Find the balance
Busy families can find time for a good dinner with planning and simple solutions, says Colleen Burns, a lifestyle expert and spokeswoman for Nestle’s Balance Your Plate program.
One of her top tips is to look for a variety of entrees and sides to bring a nutritional balance. Opt for lean proteins like fish and chicken served ith fresh or frozen veggies. Check

TIME-SAVER
Don’t crowd the pan
For oven-roasting or pan-sauteing your meals to caramelized perfection, do not overcrowd your pan, LG says. Doing so will steam your veggies or protein — not good for flavor or presentation. Instead, sear on the stovetop in batches, or use multiple sheet pans when roasting in the oven, if you have a lot of ingredients.
