Florence Welch-endorsed folk singer Alexa Wilding plays with former Matador artist Jennifer O’Connor and Two Dollar Guitar’s Tim Foljahn at the Green Bean. At Ziggy’s, it’s XXL Freshman class inductee French Montana.

Dawnaroo is a fundraiser for breast cancer victim Dawn Brown at the Blind Tiger on Friday with the Radials, the Backburners, Juju Guru, ES P, an acoustic set by House of Fools and Walrus. Beasts of the Boro stars P. Wonda at Greene Street Club. There’s super heavy music by Harlot’s Web and Ethereal at the Garage. The mad banjo man Curtis Eller joins part-time Delta Rae member Stephen Chandler at the Green Bean. Black Lodge has crustpunks Everymen with Transylvania Transport Co, while there’s country folk by the Shucks and Wurlitzer Prize at the Old Winston Social Club.

Mustache rides are only a nickel at the Carolina Beard and Mustache Competition at the Blind Tiger on Saturday. There’s hardcore by Sleeping with Sirens at Greene Street Club, and Jack-core by Mediocre Bad Guys with Sunshone Still and Janus 4-14 at the Garage. The excellent New York songwriter Dan Coyle joins up with jazz vocalist DeCarlo James at the Green Bean.

Black Lodge has punk and metal by Uzzard and Echo Crush. Aaron “Woody” Wood played Bonnaroo last summer, and he’s at Foothills. Flautist Shantala Subramanyam is doing important work in Indian classical, and she’ll perform at the UNCG Recital Hall.
