Two decades in the making, the play Te Ata stages 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at Oklahoma City University’s Burg Theatre, 2501 N. Blackwelder. Written by playwright JudyLee Oliva, the two-act play with music tells the true story of the Chickasaw Indian actress and storyteller Te Ata, whose career spanned more than 60 years, performing for President Franklin D. Roosevelt, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Playing the elder Te Ata will be actress Nancy McDoniel (United 93). Tickets are $12-$15.
