UPSCALE LIVING
With its gleaming white-glazed terra cotta and white ceramic-glazed brick architectural detailing, 509 Market Street looks like the top of a threetier wedding cake. At 10 stories, it was the symbol of successful commerce and the tallest building in town when it was built in 1911.

Serio’s daughter and her husband, Jennifer and John Psalmonds, own the three Rotolo’s Pizzerias in Shreveport and Bossier. Several years ago, they added Popsy’s Bayou Tea to their menu and, to Serio’s delight, it just took off. He named it Popsy’s after the nickname Jennifer gave him when she was 3.

PLAYING GAMES?
I was in a local liquor store the other day buying a little spirits to keep my spirits up when a man, perhaps in his late 30s, walked in looking to buy some high-end booze. He did a double take when he saw the price and immediately asked the clerk why the booze had gone up in price.

The Big Thing

Uncommon Vision
“Caddo Common will be very uncommon,” she said. “It will be an urban park that will help revitalize an area that is already on the grow by offering a venue for weddings, receptions, Shakespeare in the Park … a production for blankets on the ground,” Atchison said.

WOMEN & CHOLESTEROL

DOG GONE HEALTHY
For some, dogs are man’s best friend, but for many they are simply family. Dogs provide love and affection that is unconditional and limitless, and it’s the duty of their owners to do the same by keeping them safe and healthy. For new dog owners or seasoned self-proclaimed dog people, there can sometimes be challenges in keeping a dog in good health.
