EDITOR’S NOTE
It went beyond a demographic or a stereotype to identify the structure of the personality we sold the most to. “Who is the girl who buys our brand and what is she trying to say?” I started buying more of the products I sold. I was their target, and essentially, I started working retail for free.

I had taken three years off to stay home with our girl, Gracie, but now she is in a preschool program full-time, so I decided to head back to the classroom. I was lucky enough to be offered a wonderful position at Airline High School teaching civics and whatever other class they ask me to, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while.

from ME TO YOU
Love is in the air in the month of February and hopefully all year long. But Feb. 14 gives us an extra boost in our efforts to shower love on the special people in our lives. COMBO BUYS
One thing I see a lot is matching sets of furniture (sofa/love seat/chair or coffee/ end table packages). This to a designer is the equivalent of buying a pair of pants with a belt included or a shirt/ tie combo pack. And this is the exact reason clients have called for help – because they’re also tired of the look.

After a year of writing about my favorite lunch spots, there was a brief moment of concern that I wouldn’t know what to cover next; then a mental list of more than 20 interesting places we’ve yet to explore flashed before my eyes. That’s enough promising lunch locations for two years of CityLife issues, and the list still grows.

Managing the Market
“While Shopping for a Cause has held many names and locations throughout the last 15 years, what has remained the same is the wonderful shopping experience. Each year, the community looks forward to shopping with their favorite vendors as they prepare for spring,” Person said.
