Editor’s Note
I was thinking this when my battery light turned on in my car one night after a photo shoot. Surely my fairy godmother wouldn’t leave me stranded. She would arrive in a pretty poof, replace my battery and put me in a fabulous dress – just like the ones in this StyleWatch.

Parent trap
It’s a flaw that comes with being a person whose brain deals better with words than numbers, and it forces me to leave the simplest of mathematical equations up to my iPhone calculator. However, something is not adding up at my house and even my math-less mind has noticed.

Anima – what?
In fact, it was the work inside Villard de Honnecourt’s portfolio (1220-1240) that shows the earliest sketches of animatronics, or the use of engineering robotic simulations of living things. In short, consider them mechanized puppets that can be programmed or remotely controlled.

Thankful Beyond Measure
I have so much to be thankful for this year. It’s been a year of change and excitement in the Byrd household for sure. I’m coming up on a year that I’ve been writing this column (Again, where did the time go?), and I thought I would take the opportunity to give thanks for some things – Pinterest and otherwise.

Editing Rooms
I arrived to find a perfectly nice home filled with antiques, beautiful accessories and wall to wall family photos. This is not uncommon and there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of it, except – there was way too much. Too much of anything is too much.
