The first NedFest was essentially a backyard kegger thrown by “Michigan Mike” Torpie in 1995 as a tribute to Jerry Garcia the week after his death. Before he himself passed away last November, Torpie turned the event into an annual jamgrass extravaganza. Luckily, other organizers have stepped in to fill the void left by his death, and the 2012 version promises to be memorable, featuring acts like Keller Williams, Kyle Hollingsworth of The String Cheese Incident, Great American Taxi and Hot Buttered Rum.
