Oakland’s Hierogylphics crew personifies what many hip-hop purists consider to be the right way to create hip-hop music. Consisting of solo artists Pep Love and Casual and hip-hop quartet Souls of Mischief, the Hieroglyphics collective (which was founded by Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, who rarely tours with the collective) have consistently dropped music that’s kept true to the spirit of hip-hop. Their live show is no different.
